Award Winning Doctoral Students and Alumna

Many congratulations to two current doctoral students and an alumna of the Educational Research Department for their recent awards.

Rose Doherty, a Traditional Route PhD student, won the prize for best ePoster at the BERA (British Educational Research Association) 2024 conference held in Manchester, UK. Rose’s poster title is "It puts you off of wanting to be in online spaces" - Discussing the Impact of Online Misogyny in UK Universities.

In recognition of her significant contributions to the HE Learning Technology sector, Dr Julie Voce PFHEA SCMALT, Head of Digital Education, Learning Enhancement and Development at City St George’s, University of London, was awarded ALT (Association of Learning Technology) Honorary Life Membership at the 2024 ALT Annual Conference held in Manchester, UK.

Doctoral researcher Puiyin Wong received the ALT Community Choice Award 2024 at the ALT Annual Conference and she also received a Jisc Community Champion 2024 award.

Professor Jan McArthur (Head of Department) commented that “The recognition afforded these three PhD researchers is testament to the creative and inspiring doctoral community we have created in Educational Research here at Lancaster University. We are immensely proud of Rose, Julie and Puiyin who have demonstrated leadership in their research fields while current or recent PhD students.”
