Allyship is a term that may be unfamiliar to some, but it is a valuable concept to understand. It involves recognizing that we all have different levels of privilege and power and that we can work together to create positive change. In this course, through individual activities, real-life stories, and videos, staff can learn about allyship and develop a shared understanding of how to show up as authentic allies. By taking action in ways that centre around impact and avoid 'performative allyship' or the 'saviour mentality', we can make a real difference in our Lancaster communities. With the right guidance and support, allyship can be a powerful tool for creating a more inclusive and equitable world.
