Please join us for the Landscapes of Post-War Infrastructure Exhibition and Film Screening.
On Friday 31st March, Professor Richard Brook (Lancaster School of Architecture) is convening the final meeting of his AHRC funded research network, The Landscapes of Post-War Infrastructure.
In collaboration with Professor Luca Csepley-Knorr (University Liverpool) the project has recovered extensive design knowledge from the 1960s and 1970s, when landscape architects were at the forefront of shaping vast tracts of land in the modernisation of Britain. Motorways, power stations, and reservoirs were constructed rapidly and at scale to serve the ambitions of post-war recovery.
As part of the project’s dissemination, Manchester’s Soup Collective were commissioned to make a filmic installation that covers the birth, life and death of coal fired power stations with a focus on time and landscape.
We will be premiering the 3 screen installation as the last item of our final network meeting on Friday 31st March at 15.00 in Room A23 of the LICA Building - all welcome.
