Other research

In addition to his work at Lancaster University he is a visiting fellow at Bristol University between the schools of Psychology and Policy Studies where he works on how the public perceives disruptive climate protests and associated public policy.

Sam's PhD research focused on the social and moral psychological factors affecting individual and collective pro-environmental actions. In particular this centred on how academics respond to the climate and ecological crises, providing insights into the intersection of academia and pressing global issues.

His research utilises survey, interview, and ethnographic methodologies combining quantitative and qualitative research approaches acquired during his training in social and cultural anthropology (degree and masters), cognitive science (masters), and psychology (PhD).
