Catrin Eden
PhD student, Associate LecturerProfile
I am a PhD student funded by ENVISION DTP and case-funded by Natural England.
I completed a BSc in Biology with the University of Manchester and went on to complete an MRes in Ecology and Environmental Biology with the University of Glasgow, before commencing my PhD with Lancaster University.
My research interests include conservation and ecology, with a particular focus on avian species.
Current Research
My PhD is focussed on understanding the drivers of decline of the spotted flycatcher, a rapidly declining insectivorous migrant. My research involves analysis of national datasets as well as monitoring of a local population of breeding flycatchers. During my PhD I hope to uncover the habitat drivers of breeding success, including understanding the importance of food quantity and quality for breeding success.
