Dharman is interested in the following matters:
Anti-oppressive practice. He has critically examined conceptualisations of race and sexuality that are currently pervasive in social work. With Steve Hicks, he is writing a book, Social Work Sexualities: Practice, Research, Theory, to be published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2016.
Ethnographies of children’s social work. His doctoral research concerns how children’s social workers practise in and make sense of space and place.
