On the 18^th March, year 5 and 6 pupils from Anchorsholme Academy took the Youth Chinese Test (YCT). Results show that there was a 95% pass rate overall, with a 100% pass rate from all of children that took the YCT level 1 test!

Anchorsholme Academy, based in Thornton-Cleveleys, is a Lancaster University Confucius Institute classroom, meaning that Mandarin is taught to all pupils at the school as part of the curriculum. There is also a team of Mandarin teachers based at the school.

Children attended YCT preparation sessions organised by the teaching team of Sammy Hau, Nora Qianzhen Jian and Chency Xiao Chen during breaks and lunchtimes.

'On behalf of the team, we would like to express our deep pride in the students who participated in the YCT exam. They are the true stars, with their unwavering determination and dedication to learning Mandarin. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Lancaster Confucius Institute for making it possible for these children to enrich their education by learning a new language.

We would also like to give a special thanks to Mr. Dow, Mrs. Aimee Walch, all the class teachers, and the staff at Anchorsholme for their endless support of the Mandarin team. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to teach Mandarin to the children, and we appreciate the warm welcome and friendship that we always receive from everyone at Anchorsholme.
