On Friday 30^th June 2023, the Lancaster University Confucius Institute team hosted Chinese arts and crafts activities at Willow Lane Primary School’s Summer fair. The fair was open to pupils, families and members of the community of all ages.

The Mayor of Lancaster, Councillor Roger Dennison, and Mayoress, Glenys Dennison, also attended the fair and both took part in the Chinese arts and crafts activities.

Ying Li ran a zongzi fan making workshop to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival; Minqi Tian lead a rabbit paper cutting activities to celebrate the year of the rabbit and Xiao Chen taught people about Chinese calligraphy and gave the children a Chinese name based on the pronunciation of their name. The families enjoyed trying different Chinese cultural activities.

The Lancaster University Confucius Institute team enjoyed taking part in this community event. Thank you Willow Lane Primary School for having us.
