Catch The Wind Kite Festival 2023

On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June 2023, Lancaster University Confucius Institute ran a Chinese arts and crafts stall as part of the Catch The Wind Kite Festival on Morecambe Promenade.

Catch The Wind Kite Festival is an annual community event which attracts around 20,000 people each year. The event is hosted by More Music.

In addition to the kite display on the beach, there was also a variety of live music and performances as well as arts and crafts stalls along the prom.

The Lancaster University Confucius Institute stall had activities linked to Chinese culture and Chinese Traditional Festivals such as Chinese calligraphy, fan making in the shape of a rice ball to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival and paper cutting in the shape of a rabbit to celebrate the Chinese year of the rabbit.
