Great Hall

From grand openings and showpiece finales to glittering ceremonies and keynote talks, the Great Hall is a space made for presenting awards, giving talks, sharing ideas, and entertaining guests.

As the name suggests, the Great Hall is the biggest space at Lancaster University. The venue can host a theatre-style audience of 800 people, a banquet hall for up to 340 diners, or an exhibition hall for 250 guests.

The venue is situated a short stroll from LICA and the Faraday Complex, meaning it's also a fitting stage for commencing and concluding major conferences.

Great Hall Venue Capacity

The Great Hall's flat-floored theatre can host a maximum of 800 guests and is available to hire throughout Lancaster University vacation periods.

Directions to Great Hall

Leave the M6 motorway at Junction 33 and take the A6 north towards Lancaster.

For the Great Hall turn left at the roundabout at the top of the main University driveway.  Follow the road down past the security lodge and keep going until you reach the visitor parking on North Drive where the woodland trail begins.

We recommend that delegates use Visitor Car Parking Zones A, B or C when visiting the Great Hall. 

If you are on our day delegate or 24-hour residential package, free car parking permits can be collected from your Event Coordinator on arrival. Alternatively, the parking is pay and display and cards are accepted.

The Great Hall can be found in the Blue Zone on the campus map and is marked by the letters GHC.
