Lancaster University is amongst the best universities in the United Kingdom and is ranked in the top 10 is all 3 major national league tables. It is a public research university based in Lancaster, England, United Kingdom and was ranked 6th in UK (The Times, and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018). Lancaster University has also been named the Best Campus University and Best University in the North West. Alastair McCall, editor of The Sunday Times Good University Guide, said: “Dynamic course content and structure, plus the opportunities many students get to work abroad, is reflected in outstanding graduate prospects once they leave”. Lancaster University has a strong reputation globally, and is 135th in the World according to the QS World University Rankings (2018).

In teaching it has been awarded the highest possible score (TEF Gold) in the UK government’s 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework ratings reflecting its excellent teaching facilities, high teaching quality and good career outcomes for graduates. An impressive 97% of graduates are in employment or further study three and a half years after graduation. Lancaster University offers around 280 undergraduate degree programmes and postgraduate degrees (up to PhD) in 30 departments covering Arts & Social Science, Science & Engineering, Management, Law, Health and Medicine, with an annual income of £180 million, 3025 staff and 12,545 students.

Lancaster prides itself on having a flexible approach to learning and state of the art facilities which are continually being updated. We provide support for independent study through an institutional virtual learning environment used for all courses and 91% of undergraduate students were satisfied with their course teaching (National Student Survey 2017) – which is above the national average placing us in the top 10 UK universities based on student satisfaction.

Lancaster University is home to a diverse and cosmopolitan community with 38% international students from over 100 countries. It is proud to be one of a handful of UK universities that operates a collegiate system with 9 colleges, 8 for undergraduates and 1 for postgraduates.
