The CIELL Project Steering Committee (2018-2020) with one representative from each partner was set up during the 1st Transnational Project Meeting, that took place in January 2019 at Lancaster University, Lancaster, UK.
Dr. Julie-Ann Sime, President of the Steering Committee | Lancaster University
Julie-Ann is an educational researcher with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence in Education, MA in Psychology and is a Member of the British Psychological Society. She is an experienced online educator who has tutored postgraduates in networked learning communities for over 25 years and has taught Cognitive Psychology (including dyslexia) to undergraduate students for 9 years. She has extensive experience as a project manager, and has experience of European collaborative ICT projects funded under Framework Programme (ETIOLE, A-TEAM, VirRad) and Networks of Excellence (Kaleidoscope, MONET, MONET2). She carries out research into pedagogies for technology enhanced learning and networked learning in professional development focusing on: how visual technologies (such as games, simulations and virtual learning environments) can be designed to support education; and how to design more inclusive and personalized learning experiences. She was project manager of the ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership, ViLi project (https://www.viliproject.eu/) researching into visual and video literacies and practice of experienced educators (including comics, video, holograms, virtual and augmented reality).

Alexandros Despotopoulos | AKTO
Awarded by the Junior Chamber International for his contribution in pioneering Project Management, Alexandros Despotopoulos is AKTO’s Development Programs Director, managing at the same time the VET centres of AKTO. He carries more than 15 years of experience in managing educational development programs and educational organisations, mainly in the field of vocational training, SMEs and new technologies. He is a BA(Hons) European Studies Holder (London South Bank University), MBA and MIB (International Business – AMC), MBA (University of East London) and MBA (Frederick University). He has been awarded a BTEC in Counselling (level 5 – Edexcel) and an accredited program on the BRIC economies (Oxford University).
Dr. Shaunna Joannidou | University of Cyprus
Shaunna holds a BA in German Language and Literature (University of Oregon) and a MA in German Language and Literature as well as Linguistics/American Studies (University of Stuttgart, Germany). She has a PhD from Lancaster University, UK. She left the position of Acting Director of the University of Cyprus Language Centre after 6.5 years to focus on conducting cutting edge research in Technology Enhanced Learning in Foreign Language Teaching and Learning. In the last three years she has developed her knowledge and experience in Accreditation procedures for Language Centres and led the University of Cyprus Language Centre through its first accreditation. She has experience in developing internal/external review procedures; chairing focus group discussions, analyzing course curriculum, learning objectives and outcomes; developing feedback procedures for stakeholders in education; and evaluating staff professional development opportunities and procedures. She has a number of peer-reviewed publications and has given a number of presentations, workshops and has also been a keynote speaker concerning the opportunities that technology offers for foreign language teaching professional development.
Dr. Iris Wunder | FAU
Iris holds a Master´s degree in Online and Distance Education (Open University, UK) and a PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning (Lancaster University). She has a been working in the field of distance education and technology enhanced learning for more than 15 years as a lecturer and consultant. In her role as one of the e-learning coordinators of the FAU, she consults members of the faculty of humanities, social science and technology on the implementation of e-learning in their teaching. She specifically supports and supervises e-learning projects.
