How do we, and how can we in future, get vital materials, such as blood and water, to those in need?
As a social scientist and a CeMoRe postdoctoral researcher, I am interested in crisis mobilities broadly and the transport of vital goods specifically. I am curious about unconventional approaches to achieving mobility (eg drones transporting blood in Rwanda), particularly when conventional transport systems are not an option (eg due to road washouts caused by extreme weather). Focus areas for my research include coordination, and interoperability of operations, the development of new partnerships, as well as social, political and legal opportunities and challenges.
In the blogs on this site I explore examples and reflect on reading and writing. You can also find further information at my personal website http://stephaniesodero.weebly.com. Comments welcome!
