Biosketch: Before establishing his research group at Newcastle University, David was a Royal Society of Edinburgh Fellow at the Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh and, prior to that, a postdoctoral researcher at Brandeis University in the USA. David is the author of Molecular Biology of RNA, which serves as the primary textbook for several modules in Biomedical degree programs across UK higher education institutions. David is now a Professor of Genetics, the co-lead of the "Genes, Cells and Molecules" research theme of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the Newcastle University where he also leads a lab that investigates RNA biology in development and disease, with a particular focus on the regulation of RNA splicing and prostate cancer. His research is funded by UKRI BBSRC and Prostate Cancer UK.
