BLS Seminar Series 13th of March 2024 - Dr Matthew Ford (CRUK Cambridge Institute)
Dr. Ford’s research spans the fields of developmental, reproduction and cancer biology. Focusing on the female reproductive tract, he has identified the developmental origins of heterogeneity in mouse oviduct epithelial cells, gaining insights into their regional specific functions. Dr. Ford has also developed novel genetically engineered mouse models of ovarian cancer using CRISPR-based in vivo gene manipulation. Using this experimental system, he is investigating the interaction between progressing premalignant lesions and the microenvironment. In addition, he is establishing a preclinical pipeline to test the efficacy of chemoprevention therapeutics, that will explore alternative strategies for individuals at high-risk of developing ovarian cancer
