Rachel Odufuwa
PhD student, Associate LecturerResearch Overview
The overarching goal of my doctoral research is to elevate Black women's voices from the margins to the centre and to use methods situated within Black Feminist epistemologies. Specifically, my research aims to amplify Black women's voices concerning UK Higher Education policymaking by speaking to Black women engaged in diversity and 'decolonising' networks at various UK universities. In addition to speaking to Black women, I will be using a Black Feminist adaptation of traditional focus groups- 'sista circles'- which foregrounds the importance of dialogue within the knowledge production process. By undertaking this research, the aim is to allow Black women to speak on a topic that often marginalises our voices but to do so in our own way.
