Research Interests
Miaomiao is deeply committed to advancing the legal study of biodiversity conservation, with a particular emphasis on the protection of wild animals. Her research explores the role of law in shaping conservation outcomes, addressing both the strengths and limitations of current legal frameworks. She has a strong interest in China's evolving approach to wildlife governance, examining how national legislation responds to conservation challenges and socio-economic pressures. In addition to her work on Chinese law, she engages in comparative legal studies that analyse how different jurisdictions conceptualise and regulate wildlife protection. Through her interdisciplinary approach, she seeks to bridge the gap between environmental law, conservation science, and green criminology, with the goal of contributing to more effective, just, and ecologically informed legal solutions.
