The cost for the Lent term Chinese dance classes is £30 per person.

Event Details

Chinese dance classes for all students, staff and members of the community at Lancaster University Confucius Institute.

This term, participants will learn 'The Palace Beauties (丽人行)' dance from the Chinese classical dance drama 'Du Fu'. The dance portrays the elegance and charm of the Tang dynasty while showcasing the unique aesthetics of Chinese classical dance. Whether you are a beginner in dance or a cultural enthusiast, everybody is welcome to join this class.

The dance classes are taught in English.

Sundays, 2.15pm-3.15pm, at Lancaster University Confucius Institute

From 12 January to 23 March 2025

Please note that the class will not take place on 16 February 2025.

The Chinese dance classes are taught by Qinwei Li, a dancer, choreographer and theater producer.

Qinwei graduated from South-Central Minzu University, China and Bath Spa University, UK. Qinwei has danced for a variety of performances across the UK and China. In 2024, Qinwei directed the CSSA (Chinese Student and Scholars Association UK) Chinese New Year Celebration in London, and has also planned and directed the opening ceremony of the 2020 Liuzhou International Water Carnival in China.
