Event Details
In this talk, Professor Catherine Spooner will explore why the vampire film has proved perennially popular, showing how the genre has moved from horror to romance and beyond, becoming a truly international phenomenon. Along the way, she will revisit old favorites and introduce some new ones.
The talk precedes a screening of Robert Eggers' film Nosferatu at 2pm - the talk is free but the film requires a paid ticket.
Catherine Spooner is a Professor of Literature and Culture at the Department of English and Creative Writing at Lancaster University, where she specialises in Gothic literature, film and popular culture.
