Personal Training

Personal Training sessions at Sport Lancaster are 60 minutes long for £35 per session, or £315 for a block of ten sessions. Clients on Personal Training do not need to have a membership at Sport Lancaster.

Meet the Personal Trainers

Bella Zhu

Bella has been a personal trainer since 2014, and so far she has taught over 5,000 PT sessions, mainly in Shanghai, China, and has taught people from all over the world. She has guided many clients to improve their strength and posture, and helped individuals with weight loss and fostering a healthier lifestyle.

Bella has dedicated her life to her career, and constantly studies to improve her knowledge in all areas of fitness and she can teach in both English and Chinese, Mandarin.

With years of experience teaching private clients, Bella believes it’s imperative to find the right professional to guide you. Correct or incorrect form is always about details, you need basic knowledge and a lot of practice to improve and exercise efficiently.

Bella’s key expertise are, strength training, postural adjustment training, stretch training, and weight loss training.

Candice has had a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity which began with competitive athletics for the county and being sporty at school. With a foundation of knowledge and experience in various activities, Candice began training in the gym when she was 16 and has never looked back.

During her undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise, Candice completed a placement as Assistant Sport Scientist with Morecambe Football Club’s Academy, which led her to become a Strength & Conditioning Coach and Sport Scientist for Morecambe Ladies Football team.

Filipa is a dedicated and certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, boasting 11 years of experience in the field. She specialises in a combination of HIIT, metabolic training, and weight-lifting techniques to help her clients achieve their fitness goals.

Throughout her career, Filipa has provided valuable knowledge and unwavering support to her clients, enabling them to attain their desired results while avoiding monotony and embracing a sustainable, healthy lifestyle. Laura has been working in the health and fitness industry for over 16 years as a Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor. Each week, she works with over 100 individuals in one-to-one sessions and group exercise classes, priding herself on nurturing an inclusive community.

Clients will use their mind and body to reach, maintain, and set new goals as they grow in confidence. Laura’s kind, positive, and enthusiastic attitude is attuned to individual needs and positively impacts people's outlook on life. Matt assists individuals in identifying their goals, whether that is weight loss, muscle building, or training for a specific sporting event, he works collaboratively with clients to support them in being the best version of themselves.

Matt’s first sporting love was hockey, which led him to focus on cardiovascular and strength training to ensure optimal performance. His current training approach is to build muscle and maintains his interest in fitness with varied programmes and continuous progression.Matt’s diverse and easy-to-follow programmes encourage his clients to continue making progress outside of their training sessions.

Reuben specialises in endurance sport performance and his approach as a Personal Trainer is collaborative, focusing on effective, straightforward, and manageable methods to achieving specific goals for different training needs. His individualised sessions are designed to yield results and improve fitness levels regardless of your starting point, sport, motivation, or ultimate objective.

Leveraging his years of consistent training and competitive road cycling, cross-country running, and climbing, Reuben has extensive experience in training and studying at both national and international levels.

Reuben believes that the key elements of training are enjoyment, progress, and maintaining a healthy relationship with the process. Therefore, he prioritises fun, training variability, and session flexibility in all programmes.

Zak specialises in performance-based training and has a master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning. Zak assists individuals in achieving their goals and becoming the strongest and most confident versions of themselves, whether that’s excelling on the field or establishing sustainable habits for long-term wellbeing.

Zak has an affinity for rugby, both league and union (but no sport is off-limits for him), and has applied his training skills at various institutions, including St Helens Rugby League Academy, Ealing Trailfinders in London, and currently dedicates his time to FC United of Manchester Women's First Team.
