The fully accessible Changing Places toilet is located in the LEC building. The facility has been specially designed to accommodate the needs of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, or with physical disabilities including muscular dystrophy and multiple sclerosis.
The development of this Changing Places facility is in line with Lancaster University's commitment to actively encourage and support people with disabilities to work or learn on campus. The facility is supported by a dedicated cleaning and maintenance team, and is well signposted to via physical signage in the local area, digitally on MazeMap and at Changing Places Toilets (changing-places.org). The toilet is accessible by RADAR key, which can be signed out from the Facilities Helpdesk in University House, and from the Security Lodge.
The facility features a height adjustable changing and showering table, a multi-function ceiling hoist, a height adjustable washbasin, a toilet, and an extendable privacy screen. The space can accommodate users who need extra equipment and space to use toilets safely and comfortably.
