International Scholarships for Lancaster's Distance Learning MA in Creative Writing

dlma1

Lancaster University is expanding its highly successful Distance Learning MA in Creative Writing, allowing the admission of a new cohort of 18-20 students for the academic year 2009-10. The deadline for applications will be the end of April 2009. Since its inception in 1999, the distance learning MA has rapidly evolved into an international programme, linking students in the UK and overseas through virtual learning. The programme is mediated almost entirely by online tutorials and conferences, with a live Summer School at its mid-point.

International Scholarships: We are delighted to announce that we will also be able to offer two International Scholarships (worth £8,000 over two years) to applicants who need assistance in financing their studies and who are resident outside the EU. Selection will be on the basis of the quality of the portfolios submitted. We also ask for a covering letter of application (maximum two sides of A4 paper) demonstrating how the award will help you. This letter should be clearly headed 'International Scholarship Application'. We anticipate a strong demand for these awards, but hope to reply soon after the closing date. It is important that you read the submission guidelines carefully when sending in your application and portfolio.
