LEC 2050 Food Week is a week of lunchtime activities organised by Lancaster Environment Centre’s Sustainability Group aimed at sparking debate and generating action on issues relating to food sustainability and our campus. These activities are open to all.
This event follows on from our LEC 2050 Travel Week earlier in the year.
The LEC 2050 Week series challenges us all to step up to the global sustainability challenges we face. Our current food system accounts for 30% of our greenhouse gas emissions and is a major contributor to land use change and degradation, water pollution and biodiversity loss. This week will explore what changes we will need to make to our diets, habits, and packaging before 2050 to meet our carbon commitments for mitigating climate change.
Lancaster Environment Centre’s Sustainability Group brings together volunteers across academic, research, professional staff and students and partners to work on sustainability issues in our department, campus and wider community.

Everyone is welcome to join in with the LEC 2050 Week series through the #LEC2050week. (NB you don't need a Twitter account to view the content)
