Research interests

I am interested in occupational cohorts, and am currently applying this in work on a cohort of Porton Down veterans, but am interested in applying methods and data to the broader field of military health. I am particularly interested in using our Porton Down cohort to investigate broader issues such as causes of mortality in military personnel and issues around ageing in occupational cohorts.

In collaboration with partners in Blackburn with Dawen council I recently worked on looking at prevalence of dementia in the region and how this might be a distributed across the council region. The health effects of ageing are also a theme in current work on care homes and on hospice referrals.

I am continuing to work in the field of childhood cancer, particularly in looking at possible environmental risk factors for childhood cancers.
