It works in 119 countries to guarantee health, protection, education, economic development and food security to all children, and promote their participation. In addition, it responds to emergencies caused by conflicts or natural disasters.
In 2014 it responded to 97 emergencies in 54 countries – delivering life-saving food, water, healthcare, protection and education to over 5 million people. Save the Children’s emergency response work is not just about saving lives in the immediate aftermath of a catastrophe. It works tirelessly to support children and their families to become more resilient to crisis and restore communities and livelihoods following disasters.
