Kevin Ronan is Professorial Research Fellow in Clinical Psychology at Central Queensland University Australia. He specialises in hazards and disasters, problems of youth and families, schizophrenia, and programme outcome evaluation. He is senior author of a book called “Promoting Community Resilience to Disasters: The Role for Schools, Youth, and Families” (2005, Springer, New York) and coordinating lead author of a Background Paper, commissioned by the United Nations (UNESCO and UNICEF), as part of the 2015 Global Assessment Review on Disaster Risk Reduction. Over two decades, he has many publications focused on child-centred disaster risk reduction (CC-DRR). He is the current project leader of a three year study in CC-DRR funded by Australia’s Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre.
