Ru - I called and managed to secure a place

I was super happy with my grades so I applied to go through clearing. Lancaster was a university where I found a course that perfectly suited what I was looking for. I called them and managed to secure a place on the course Biology with Psychology.

I have loved every moment I have spent at Lancaster. It has a lovely campus which I lived in during my first year. It was super convenient to get to my lectures in under 10 minutes no matter where they were in terms of location. My course has grown a lot on me, and I have found myself to be more and more fascinated by the learning material. Even though it has been difficult, the university has provided lots of support and guidance for me to achieve my best potential.

We have on-campus and online Clearing events for you in the run up to results day and after you've applied. If you receive an offer through Clearing you can also book our exclusive in-person tours and events.

Hashim - I am glad that I rejected my previous offers

I realized that studying in the UK would be valuable and wanted to explore my options. Unfortunately, I had missed the regular application deadline for Lancaster University.

Lancaster University's willingness to accommodate me despite not being an applicant in the initial application cycle, along with its excellent academic offerings and positive reputation, solidified my decision. I confirmed my place at Lancaster within a short time after receiving their offer.

Lancaster has a strong academic reputation, excellent resources and facilities, and a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Current students and alumni provided positive feedback, praising the quality of education and the vibrant campus community.

I am glad that I rejected my previous offers and chose to study at Lancaster University. The supportive response during the clearing process, coupled with my research and conversations with people connected to the university, gave me confidence and excitement about starting my academic journey at Lancaster.

The campus provides a unique and immersive experience that promotes learning. It feels like a world of its own, and this environment fosters a sense of community and exploration.

I am genuinely grateful for the abundant opportunities provided by the university. I have the freedom to engage in conversations on various topics that interest me and explore them further through the numerous resources available to us. The university's dedication to organizing and facilitating these opportunities is commendable, and I truly value the effort put into enriching our academic experience.

Beth - I had a huge change of mind on results day

I applied through clearing as I had a huge change of mind on results day about what I wanted to do. I thought my results were an indication that maybe business was the right path for me, so I immediately had a look at which universities had places on a business course available in clearing. I had originally applied to Lancaster as one of my 5 UCAS choices, so I knew that I liked the uni.

I rang the clearing hotline, was offered a place and the rest was history.

I've really enjoyed my first year here. I've really noticed is the community feel that Lancaster has. When talking to friends about their uni choices, I've often been surprised by the lack of community within their unis - often ones in a big city. I've found that everyone gets to know each other super quickly, as you'll make friends with someone in a seminar one day and spot them walking down the spine the next! The campus has made it a lot easier to meet friends from across the uni as we're all based in the same place - something I especially appreciated at the start of term.

What is Clearing?

Clearing opens on Friday 5 July 2024. It's your chance to make the most of your results and explore your university options.
