Working in partnership with Stagecoach
All local bus services from the University are operated by Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire, with whom the University has developed a close working partnership. This partnership helps ensure the best possible service and support for students and staff travelling to campus by bus. A prioritised campus-to-city bus service, additional services where needed and discounted bus travel are just some of the benefits being realised through the partnership.
An improved Lancaster University Bus Station
Lancaster University Bus Station, located in the Underpass, has undergone an extensive redevelopment process throughout the summer of 2023, with a comprehensive series of works completed to improve the user experience. These improvements include resurfacing of new and existing flooring, new and improved lighting, improved drainage, and a comprehensive redecoration process. These developments followed the previous works to extend the passenger area, creating more space and leading to an improvement in air quality.
Travelling around campus by bus
All services stop at Lancaster University Bus Station, Sports Centre and Health Innovation Campus on the A6, but there are other bus stops on campus too. Some services use the stops on South Campus and South West Campus. This includes the bus stop outside the Management School. Furthermore, a great-value 50p single fare applies for all bus journeys within the campus boundary including the Health Innovation Campus from the A6. For pass holders, these journeys are all-inclusive.
