Level up in climbing technique during brand new Climbing Workshops
New for 2024, Sport Lancaster has introduced six brand-new, specialised Climbing Workshops designed to support climbers in specific focus areas, build confidence in their abilities, and learn technical fundamentals to implement into their individual climbing sessions.
The 45-minute Climbing Workshops are included in Gold Memberships, or cost £12.50 at a Pay As You Play rate. All equipment is provided and climbers are granted additional access to the Climbing Wall after the workshop is complete, to implement new techniques and skills learned.
Climbers must have passed their Climbing Wall Competency Assessment and be 14+ years old to book.

The Climbing Workshops were trialled by Lancaster University’s Mountaineering Society, and other registered climbers at Sport Lancaster, to gather valuable feedback and enhance the overall experience for participants.
Kyle Wells-Stonehouse trialled the Moving Efficiently Workshop and commented:
“[The Climbing Team] has a fantastic aptitude for teaching, is great at breaking down concepts and making techniques easy to follow.”
Tasnim Akhtar contributed:
“I learnt a lot. Despite being an intermediate climber, the beginner activities helped me learn the importance of certain things, like arm movement and rest.”
